The game under review is a classic pixel art 2D platformer that immerses players in the role of an apprentice swordsman tasked with confronting dragons and rescuing princesses. Its straightforward controls, which include jumping and dash attacks, enable players to engage effortlessly with the adventure. The game features an appealing array of charming enemy characters, items that aid in character development, and a nostalgic game world that harkens back to simpler times.

Story

The narrative unfolds in a certain kingdom where an evil swordsman has stolen a gem containing a dragon. By releasing the dragon, he gains tremendous power and seizes control of the kingdom’s tower. Although the king manages to escape, the princess remains captive. Despite sending numerous troops to rescue her and reclaim the gem, none return alive.

In a desperate move, the king decides to rely on the "apprentice swordsman," a descendant of the legendary swordsman who once contained the dragon within the gem. Despite some objections regarding this choice, the king’s intuition compels him to proceed.

The objective becomes clear: locate the legendary equipment once worn by the legendary swordsman to reclaim both the gem and the princess. The "apprentice swordsman" begins his quest through a hidden passage of the tower on a moonlit night.

Game Overview

The primary goal is to collect legendary equipment and keys within the dragon's tower while ultimately defeating both the demon swordsman and the dragon. Although players can complete the game without rescuing the princess, her liberation is necessary for achieving the true ending.

There are two main attack methods available: "dash attack" and "trampling." The dash attack is effective against all foes but inflicts damage to the player as well. In contrast, trampling—where players jump and land on an enemy—allows for successful engagement without damaging themselves.

When players acquire an item, it appears automatically in the upper left corner of the screen. If health reaches zero (located at the top left), players respawn at their last checkpoint—the position where they collected their most recent coin.
